Location
Learn French in an exciting, vibrant city, overlooking beautiful Lake Geneva. Montreux is located in the French-speaking Vaud region of Switzerland, close to the majestic city of Lausanne and across the lake from cosmopolitan Geneva. Enjoy the summer sun against the dramatic backdrop of the Swiss Alps; soak up the café culture; or take part in any number of outdoor sports. Whatever you choose to do, you’ll have an unforgettable time on your French course for Young Students in Montreux!
The school itself has superb facilities, including comfortable, modern classrooms, a student lounge, Internet café, computer room, garden, terrace, gym area and two cafeterias. There are even volleyball and basketball courts!
CourseYou can learn French in Montreux for anything from one week to seven weeks. Each week you’ll have 20 French lessons, all in the morning, Monday to Friday. If you’ve been learning French for two years or more, you can take four extra conversation classes per week to improve your spoken French. All of our school’s teachers are highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic, so you’ll receive the best tuition possible!
Accommodation
Our school’s on-site accommodation takes the hassle out of getting to school in the morning. A double room in the residence is included with the course. If you’d like a single room to yourself, or a deluxe room, an extra supplement will apply. All rooms have their own shower and toilet facilities, and some even have balconies with views across Lake Geneva!
During the week, our school’s chefs will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for you each day. At the weekends, you’ll have brunch and dinner. Occasional ‘theme nights’ and barbecues are also organised, giving you a chance to sample something different. Best of all, you’re always free to refill your plate!
Level of supervisionParents decide how much supervision their children are to have. All activities are supervised.
ActivitiesActivities are central to this French course for Young Students in Montreux. Not only do they help you to make friends and enjoy yourself, they also give you the chance to practice your French!
There’ll be something to do every afternoon, whether it’s playing sports, a shopping trip, or visiting local sights like the famous Château de Chillon. Many activities, such as a trip to the Nestlé Musuem, football matches, an afternoon in Geneva, street hockey and movie nights are free. Other activities, including watersports, mini-golf, horse riding and tennis, carry an extra cost.
TransfersTransfers from Geneva Airport are available, although they are not included in the cost of the course.
SuitabilityOur school’s on-site accommodation and its exciting range of activities make this program ideal for 14-18 year-olds. Montreux is a very safe, yet very interesting, place for Young Students to study French.
