The ancient city of Trieste has belonged to various nations throughout the centuries. Due to its rich cultural heritage, you’ll experience a wonderful fusion of different European cuisines, architectural styles and customs in Trieste. For example, the beautiful Miramare castle, perched over the Adriatic, is a relic from Trieste’s time in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The location for this Italian course in Trieste is equally impressive. You’ll learn Italian in an historical convent building, with its own residence. The course is available from early June to the beginning of October.
After your Italian lessons, visit the Piazza Unità, a large elegant square on the seafront, which is the centre of city life. Here you can chat to the locals in Italian, admire the eye-catching facades of the Government Palace, or simply soak up the lively atmosphere of this fascinating university city! Or you could enjoy the summer sun on one of the many stunning beaches in the vicinity of Trieste.

The beautiful historic building where our language school is based lies within Trieste’s old town. Its hillside position gives you great sea views from the large, cool classrooms. The school has free WI FI Internet access, as does the residence, as well as a library.
All of the teachers at our school are native Italian speakers, and have lots of experience in Italian language tuition. Our school offers various Italian courses, allowing you to choose the pace of learning. The Standard course of 20 Italian lessons per week leaves you with afternoons free to explore Trieste! On average, there will be just 8-10 students per class on this course, so students receive lots of attention from their teachers, and learn quickly! The Intensive course adds five private classes per week to the Standard course, and the Super-Intensive course gives you 20 group lessons plus 10 private lessons each week. You can even choose a course consisting entirely of private lessons, if you feel that you learn best on a one-to-one basis.
For the duration of your Italian course in Trieste, stay either in a student residence, with an Italian host family or in a city centre apartment. There are single rooms at the residence, some with en-suite bathrooms, and shared kitchen and laundry facilities. Staying in the residence, you’ll be close to the school, and can socialize with language students from all around the world!

Alternatively, live with an Italian family to get as much Italian practice as possible, and to experience the Italian way of life at first hand! You’ll be able to use the kitchen and, if you’re lucky, you might even get some tips on Italian cookery! All prospective host families are thoroughly vetted by our school, and regular checks are made to ensure that their accommodation is of the required standard.
Our school can also arrange accommodation for you in centrally located apartments, if you’d prefer that option. The most important thing for us is that whatever type of accommodation you choose, you are fully satisfied with it.
There’s much to enjoy in Trieste and the surrounding area, and our school aims to introduce you to the best of it! Visit the amazing Grotta Gigante cave system, the castles of Duino, the scenic town of Muggia and nearby beaches on half-day trips organized by the school. You can also spend a full day at the ancient Roman city of Aquileia and the Collio vineyards, amongst other places.
