Learn English in Bristol!
Bristol
Bristol has been one of England’s most important ports since the 11th Century, and the influence of this close association with the sea is evident throughout the city. The harbour is the city’s focal point, and never more so than during the annual harbour festival, where Bristolians come together to celebrate their wonderful seafaring heritage!
The area around the harbour has recently been regenerated, with many restaurants, bars and nightclubs, as well as a fantastic science museum with IMAX theatre. Bristol has some stunning architecture, both old and new, including the cathedral and the world famous Clifton suspension bridge, which was designed by Bristol’s celebrated engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
